halfway to seventy!

haha. it was my birthday yesterday and the thing that i came to realize is that your body feels *a lot* different waking up on your 35th birthday than your 25th. i think i'll be 35 for a while...
so i stayed up until 3am the night before making my cookie trees and i couldn't tell you why i would do something so stupid. i was exhausted all day yesterday but determined to have fun with the family. and we did! we went to Temple Square to see the beautiful nativities and lights. and Temple Square never disappoints. it was so lovely. the boys loved it and it really was the best birthday! i love my boys and i love Christmastime and i love the Gospel and it was the perfect way to celebrate. could've been just a few dozen degrees warmer but we didn't let that stop us from having fun!
keo loved riding the "choo choo," which is what he's saying in this picture. i know i'm just a touch biased but he is really the cutest little guy.
he wasn't ever much interested in taking any pictures.
so pretty! i just love the temple, it's so majestic. and at Christmastime it's even more beautiful. the spirit on Temple Square is peaceful and hopeful and you just feel happy.

they had nativity scenes from all over the world, which was probably my favorite part.

this one was so beautiful! to the right and left of the reflection pool were statues of the wise men and shepherds. ahhh, it's nice to stop and just remember what it's all about.
