too much t.v.? or too much soda?
So we had a fantastic whirlwind weekend. My sister gave me nearly ten whole days' notice that she intended to marry her boyfriend. I may have had a little more to do with it than I will admit, but I held the nicest-if-not-a-touch-selfish intentions to simply be a witness to what was originally a very simple Justice of the Peace ceremony. My offer was met with the two of them spilling the secret and inviting both parents and sisters and a TON of said relations children to share with them a slightly more religious and celebratory event. Anyway, we took off Friday, drove through the night, sat in the bewilderingly uncommon Seattle sunshine for the lovely ceremony held in my parents' lovely front yard, surrounded by lovely lilacs and lovely little kids. The kids were ours and theirs and not part of the decorations. Though Keo did indeed try to eat the lilacs. Yum.
It was, as I said, lovely. That night, I spent some time with my mom and nieces and enjoyed much needed girl talk. The boys spent some time watching "Pawn Stars," a favorite of my dad's and especially of Kai, who LOVES junk. What is it about that show? T's dad loves it too, and pretty much everyone I know can tell you all about the guys in the show, their names, personality, etc. Random. That said, I have watched parts of episodes and do like it a lot. It's like Antiques Roadshow only, for lack of a nicer word, trashy. Maybe the name just bothers me.
Anyway, short trip but awesome.
Yesterday on the way to karate, Kai and Jo were having a random discussion about what they would like to buy with their savings ("savings" here meaning "something like $30 to their name and burning a hole in their pockets but luckily forgotten at home every time we leave the house, so still growing a little here and there"). Jo said that he would like to buy a soda machine. Yes, you read that correctly, but anyway. The conversation went thus:
Jo: I want to buy a soda machine.
Kai: Where can you even get something like that?
Jo: Um, I think you'd have to work at Pawn Stars.
Mom: Wow. That's going on my blog.
So I will post new pictures soon. It's been too long and I have to show off my sweet boys. Too, my sister was a beautiful bride and I REALLY like my new brother, J.

K: Pawn Stars really is cool, I could get hooked very easily. Maybe I should change the word to "edgy" cause trashy really was kind of mean. I just didn't use a thesaurus!
