My sweet niece Kaitie Rae is coming to visit for a good part of the summer! I absolutely love my nieces and nephews but she and I have a special relationship for a number of reasons.
When I was single and flaky (or just single - the flaky thing hasn't much changed), I took off three different times to go live in distant lands - cause I could. I visited my sister in Harrogate, England for a summer. It was beautiful and magical and I realized that I was born in the wrong century. I think many a girl realizes this as she either 1) reads any Jane Austen book, or 2) visits the Yorkshire Dales. Anyway, there I got to spend so much time with my Kaitie Rae (she's all tough and grown up now, and insomuch goes by "Kait" but she'll always be Kaitie Rae to me)
I once made the decision in the morning to move to Pensacola, Florida and did so that evening. My sister and I drove across the country with Kait and her sweet baby sister CarMo. Kait was two and a half and HILARIOUS. She pitched a fit during one potty stop because she couldn't really go potty in the grass like a cow, that was only for emergencies. We lived together in a very. very. very. small. apartment so Kait & I shared a room for five months. Every night we would read our "kipkers" (scriptures) together; she was the dang cutest thing ever.
She is absoutely fearless and once got quite angry because Mommy & Kiki got to go on the sky coaster at Lagoon and she did not. She was two. Kiki nearly cried, it was so scary.
I could go on and on. Now she's coming to watch my monkey boys for more than a month! So here's to Kait. My co-worker found a great site: polyvore, where you can make cutesy stuff. So i tried here to capture Kait, those of you who know her, what do you think?
