KEO HAS FIVE BIG BROTHERS
So not being home with my babies is very nearly unbearable. And I am not being dramatic either, I HATE leaving them each day. But the thing that gets me through the work day is knowing how loved they are by their caregivers. My Kait is so good to the boys: keeps them in line way better than I do, and has not complained once about her slave wages. My friend Ann, one of those kinds of friends where you can't quite figure out how you yourself contribute to the relationship- essentially how in the world you got yourself a friend like that, watches my Keo for me. She is literally like a second mom to him, though she would deny it. He really doesn't much know the difference from her (blonde-haired and blue-eyed) and me. I feel not the least bit threatened by this but so grateful for the double love this kid gets daily.
Tuesdays I get a two-hour lunch break and always visit my Keo. Today I walked into Ann's house to find bits of tape discarded on the couch. They (Ann has four kids, all teenagers, all just SO in love with Keo) had decided that he should learn to hold his bottle with his feet - yes, like a monkey. They taped the bottle to his feet and helped him get started, then took the tape off and were delighted to see his progress. Trainable, this little monkey is...

on a side note: look at those THIGHS! we had his six month check up yesterday and the little squirt is only in the 3rd percentile for his weight and only 40th for his height! doctor says he's way too underweight and gave me strict orders to feed him more whether he likes it or not. he does not like it. he threw up all day yesterday as Anna tried to feed him more than he asked for. but really??? who could look at those thighs and think, "wow this baby needs to add a few."
This is the oldest of her boys. He teases me constantly about how he's going to teach Keo the word for "Ann," that is, "Mommy." What a punk. But he absolutely adores the baby. His other brother got this picture of him sleeping on the job.

My Jojo just LOVES these boys, he is constantly over at their house, their little shadow. Today Kai & Jo were playing video games with one of the boys. He said to Jo, "Jojo, we're on the same team!" To which Jo said, "I know we're on the same team, I'm just trying to kill you." And the big boys still love him. I have some lucky kids.
